“Be the change you wish to see in the world.” always rang true in my head and heart. As a young girl, I wish I had mentors besides my parents to guide me through life’s journey.
Growing up in New York in the early 90s, the only women my sister and I looked to as role models—outside of our mother—were the ones we saw on television. Many of those images centered on gaining attention rather than building character, and without strong, diverse examples, I made several missteps along my journey into womanhood. From setting priorities to understanding self-worth and self-care, there were gaps in my foundation because I did not fully know who I was or what I was capable of.
Today, as a mother of two daughters, I am passionate about helping girls develop a stronger sense of identity, confidence, and purpose. That passion led to the creation of Kingdom Girls, Inc., an organization dedicated to supporting and developing young girls through the challenges of adolescence and young adulthood.
Through a combination of my professional background in social work and mental health, along with the lived and professional experiences of our team, we provide consistent, meaningful support to the girls we serve. We also recognize that growth does not happen in isolation, which is why we intentionally partner with parents and guardians to reinforce learning, provide guidance, and support each girl’s development both within and beyond our programs.
Kingdom Girls, Inc. is a safe and empowering space where girls are encouraged to express themselves, build confidence, and grow into the women they were created to be.
